While they were a long standing supplier for Portman, this was the first time they had carried out any work for Nationwide. They were efficient and helpful, keen to help branch staff find solutions for any storage or other problems which arose, while keeping disruption to branch operations to the minimum." As part of the Portman/Nationwide merger, Burnham Office Interiors were asked to assist with the removal of furniture and clearance of various properties. James Burnham took personal responsibility for the planning and organisation, which involved 4 separate teams based at different locations around the country. Nationwide Building Society are very sensitive about what happens to waste and are keen to avoid 'landfill', therefore, all serviceable furniture was recycled, with some going directly to charities/schools etc. Everything else was thoroughly sorted and as much as possible recycled with only an absolute minimum going to landfill sites. Naturally Burnham Office Interiors are delighted to have been asked to carry out this work for Nationwide Building Society and are now working in partnership with another Nationwide supplier at the Administration Centre in Bournemouth to help maintain furniture there. |
